In heav’n the bells are ringing:

Let steeple bells be swungen,
And “Io, io, io!”

Gloria Hosanna in excelsis!
Gloria Hosanna in excelsis!

Twelve Days of Chistmas

On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me
A partridge in a pear tree.
On the second day … Two turtle doves
On the third day … Three French hens
On the fourth day … Four calling birds
On the fifth day … Five golden rings
On the sixth day … Six geese a-laying
On the seventh day … Seven swans a-swimming
On the eight day … Eight maids a-milking
On the ninth day … Nine ladies dancing
On the tenth day … Ten lords a-leaping
On the eleventh day … Eleven pipers piping
On the twelfth day … Twelve drummers drumming

I Saw Three Ships

I saw three ships come sailing in,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day,
I saw three ships come sailing in,
On Christmas Day in the morning.
And what was in those ships all three?
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day,
And what was in those ships all three?
On Christmas Day in the morning.
Our Saviour Christ and his lady
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day,
Our Saviour Christ and his lady,
On Christmas Day in the morning.
O he did whistle, and she did sing,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day,
O he did whistle, and she did sing,
On Christmas Day in the morning.
And all the angels in Heaven shall sing,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day,
And all the angels in Heaven shall sing,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day.
And all the bells on earth shall ring
Ding Dong, Ding [a-ding] Dong
And all the bells on earth shall ring
Ding Dong, Ding-a-ding Dong
Then ————– let us all rejoice amain,
On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day,
Then let us all rejoice amain —————
On Christmas Day in the morning.

Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer

Rudolph the Red- Nosed Reindeer
You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen,
Comet and Cupid and Donder and Blitzen.
But do you recall
The most famous reindeer of all?
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Has a very shiny nose,
And if you ever saw it,
You could even say it glows.
All of the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names;
They never let poor Rudolph
Join in any reindeer games.
Then one foggy Christmas Eve,
Santa came to say:
Rudolph with your nose so bright,
‘Won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?’
Then how the reindeer loved him
As they shouted out with glee,
‘Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,
You’ll go down in history.’

Past 3 a clock

(Refrain)

Past three-a-clock; And a cold frosty morning;

Past three-a-clock; Good morrow masters all;

Born is a baby, gentle as maybe,

Son of th’eternal, Father supernal.

(Refrain)

Seraph choir singeth; Angel bell ringeth,

Hark how they rime it, time it and chime it.

(Refrain)

Light out of star land; leadeth from far land.

Princes to meet him, worship and greet him.

(Refrain)

Thus they: I pray you, up sirs or stay you;

Till ye confess him, likewise and bless him.

(Refrain)

White Christmas

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas

Just like the ones I used to know

Where the treetops glisten and children listen

To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas

With every Christmas card I write

May your days be merry and bright

And may all your Christmases be white

Holly and the Ivy

O — the— Holly and the Ivy,
When they are both full grown
Of all the trees that are in the wood,
The holly tree bears the crown:
[Refrain]
And the rising of the sun,
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ,
Sweet singing all in the choir.
O, the holly tree bears a blossom,
As white as lily flow’r,
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ,
To be our dear Saviour:
[Refrain]
O, the holly tree bears a berry,
As red as any blood,
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ,
To do poor sinners good.
[Refrain]
O, the holly tree bears a prickle,
As sharp as a thorn,
And Mary bore sweet Jesus Christ,
On Chrissimus Day in the morn:
[Refrain]
O — the— Holly and the Ivy,
When they are both full grown
Of all the trees that are in the wood,
The holly tree bears the crown:
[Refrain]
And the rising of the sun,
And the running of the deer
The playing of the merry organ,
Sweet singing all in the choir.
